Golder has a new opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our team on a full time basis based in Mississauga or Montreal ( we are open to other locations as well)

An Overview Of The Team You Will Join

Involved in designing mining infrastructure with a multi-discipline team including dewatering, ore handling, paste backfill, tailings disposal, shotcrete, fuel and lube delivery and truck shops
Pumping systems for mining, landfills and contaminated soil sites
Landfill gas extraction, flaring and generation
Wastewater treatment

An Overview Of Your Role Will Include

Perform conceptual, feasibility, detailed engineering design work
Write and review proposals and projects
Direct development of one line diagrams, elementary diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical portion of P&ID’s and loop diagrams, cable schedules, physical installation, assembly drawings, engineering calculations for electrical loads, voltage drop, conduit and conductor sizing, overcurrent protection devices
Drafting presentations, field verifications, liaison with other engineering vendors and customers
Project management and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams for the purpose of completing engineering design work
Interface with clients, site visits and meetings

You Will Have The Following Skills And Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
At least five (5) plus years of electrical design experience for heavy industry (mining, refining, petrochemical, power, etc.)
Registered as a professional engineer in the Province of Quebec. A license in any other province in Canada is an asset.
Microsoft Office and general computer usage
Software: AutoCAD, Windows, MS Word, Excel, lighting programs, scheduling
Experience on SKM Power tools will be an asset
Experience in grounding, lighting level calculations, and cost estimating
Experience in designing one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics
Experience in cable tray/conduit sizing and routing, cable tray sizing and routing, and bills of material
Experience with demand load, power flow and voltage drop calculations
Experience with monitor circuits, ladder logic wiring diagrams
Experience in substation design, transformer sizing and protection, power distribution, controls
Experience with emergency generators
Experience with medium and low voltage switchgear selection, motor control center design, motor starters, current transformers, potential transformers; 13.8 kV, 4160 V and 600 V starter line-ups
Strong organizational skills
Excellent communication skills in English and French (both oral and written)
Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment
Valid driver’s licence
Local and international travel could be required
Ability to work independently as well as with others to produce desired results with minimal supervision
Ability to meet tight deadlines on multiple projects
