The Global Product Group (GPG) Power Transformers works on capturing and translating customer requirements into improvements of existing solutions and setting direction for development of new products. We are helping customers all over the world improve efficiency, save resources and reduce emissions gives our work a powerful sense of purpose. Working within the Global Product Manager, you will have opportunities to apply your transformer engineering knowledge to help customers with demanding applications and be part of joint development of new solutions for the changing electrical grid. The work will require participation in technical meetings, international standards development, and contributing to industry knowledge by preparing white papers and presentations on power transformer technology. The Global Product Specialist as part of the team and in his role will be accountable to ensure competitiveness of products, strong value differ-entiation and technological leadership for the Power Transformers portfolio with focus on customer satisfaction and profitable growth.

Your responsibilities

  • You conduct evaluations of market requirements and trends, including identification of technical product gaps or competitiveness opportunities
  • You work to connect product technical features and capabilities with customer values and gains
  • You take lead and responsibility for product technical specifications, support the Global Product Manager in developing the business case for product development
  • You follow changes in the main international standards, customer specification requirements, anticipate their impact on the power transformer portfolio and systematically collect and share market technical data to validate performance of products
  • You approve the technical outcomes of the development projects, provide engineering oversight and support for new product homologation processes
  • You develop training materials for new products in conjunction with the R&D team & Global Product Managers and lead assigned trainings
  • You prepare technical communication materials (white papers), presentations and support new product launches
  • You provide sales support, participate in customer meetings, and attend trade shows on request to better identify their needs
  • You live core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business

Your background

  • MSc or BSc Engineering degree with more than 10+ years in transformer engineering including electrical design, experience from working in a factory with production process and cost structure understanding
  • Experience with complex quotation and orders including specification analyzes, customer design reviews and meetings
  • International experience gained from working with different customers and product standards
  • Fluent English, experience with writing technical papers or reports
  • Structured and analytical thinking
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills
