Manager of Projects Overview:
Ensure complete understanding of all customer’s project requirements, including technical, commercial and schedule.
Ensure customer projects are completed on-time based on our contractual obligations and customer expectations.
Ensure that the Company’s interests are protected, including overall project profitability.
Achieve high level of Customer’s satisfaction by managing all communication and coordination between the Customer and the Company.
Brief Description of Duties:
We are looking for a Manager of Projects to lead a team of project management resources with the objective to deliver performance excellence that contributes to the overall success of our Sales Operations and Company. You will become part of the Sales Operations management team and will work collaboratively with Sales, Application Engineers, Engineers, and Production Managers to ensure effective communication across the company departments for project related information.
Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and intervention to the project managers and coordinators to ensure all projects stay on track, customers remained informed to achieve high level of customer satisfaction.
Regularly monitor and audit the progress of projects, evaluate performance of each project manager/coordinator regularly and make course correction if needed.
Be actively involved in identifying and resolving issues that will cause consequential implications to the Customer and (or) the Company.
Leading timely coordination with the plants and other departments. Track all active projects and raise flags and alert hierarchy on all critical course deviations and report progress to upper management.
Ensure the team has the correct skillsets, tools and processes in place and that all relevant staff are trained and equipped adequately to deliver performance consistently.
Establish clear and quantitative goals and objectives for each employee and measure his/her performance regularly.
Provide necessary mentoring, coaching, and training to ensure that all team members are performing to their optimal level and they are in full compliance with all company processes and policies.
Ensure the workload is manageable and equally divided among all team members. Notify management if additional staff is needed and actively involved in recruitment and training of all new employees.
Requirements and skills:
Minimum 10 years of project management experience
Minimum 2 years of people management experience
Excellent communication skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Location: Roanoke, VA (onsite); primary location may change with business conditions.
