Job Description Summary The Service divisions of GE Grid Solutions GSI North America is currently seeking a senior power transformers field specialist. Reporting directly to the Head of Service Power Transformers (PTR) team, the incumbent will be responsible, in collaboration with the client and the engineering group to ensure the erection, commissioning and maintenance of PTR systems and provide support equipment. It will also train and support these colleagues and the client’s employees in performing this task. It should also be available 24/24 for support in case of emergency.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Resource planning, equipment and time for commissioning, repair or maintenance expertise.
  • Perform Erection supervision of Power Transformers
  • Run Oil Treatment unit
  • Manage Workers customer and / or switch on the site.
  • Perform commissioning tests
  • Prepare progress reports, test results, non-compliance report
  • Annotating and editing drawings ‘as built’.
  • Participate in the drafting of technical procedures.
  • Submit to external customers and internal technical documentation necessary for operation and maintenance of equipment. Provide information supplements as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance in the preparation of submission.
  • Participate in the development of inspection criteria in collaboration with customers and engineering team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Transformer or HV/MV apparatus or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of field experience in Power Transformers
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time

Desired Characteristics

  • Have good ability to interact and communicate with clients and workers
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic testing equipment’s
  • Experience in innovative Service environment.
  • Knowledge of design software (understand Single Line Diagram and electrical schematics), knowledge of office software (MS Office Suite)
  • Ensure management quality with the goal of enhancing the company’s image.
  • Excellent net-worker, team player and manager. Good communication skills.
