The India Power Grids Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 900 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub within PG Business and HVDC and FACTS engineering center outside ABB Sweden. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports ABB units in more than 25 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 60 countries.
Lead the Project Execution and Co-ordinate the project work with other stake holders (Project manager, other design teams, local ABB offices and externally to our customer during verification and commissioning phase) to ensure the project is executed smoothly
Taking responsibility for the project team to ensure the results are delivered on time, with the right scope and quality, and meeting the budgeted cost.
Support tender engineering right from analyzing the technical requirements and providing solution to Coordination with different stake holders (Design Engineering teams, tender management, suppliers and customers) to ensure the bid is submitted on time with the right technical offer.
Taking accountability for time schedule, budget and quality control during the entire project execution.
Identify risks and opportunities at early stages, take risk mitigation actions, develop the strategy for integration with Control system and coordinate technical activities within his domain in the project.
Support procurement, follow ups with vendors to identify the right materials for project execution and analyze & optimize the material cost and quality and support vendor development.
Support to resource planning & developing HBU team to deliver the HBU Projects on time.

M.E / M.Tech in Power Systems or Energy systems or Power Electronics & Drives or any related discipline.
8 to 10 Years of experience in similar role.
Hands on experience in performing System design engineering for FACTS / HVDC / Substation applications.
Good knowledge of Power System equipments and their purpose. Example, Power Transformers, Capacitors, Reactors, Instrument Transformer and measuring equipment, Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors and Surge Arrestors.
Knowledge in selection, sizing, integration and testing of above equipment based on customer specification.
Understanding application of Power Electronics in HV/EHV system.
