Reports to Components General Manager and acts as the primary conduit for communications between SPX Components and assigned Customers. Leads all commercial activities for the Components business and assigned Customers. Collaborates closely with the Components Customer Support Specialists (CSSs), Territory General Managers (TGMs) for the transformer business, Channel Partner sales agents, and other Marketing & Sales personnel to identify and develop sales opportunities, formulate bid strategies, create proposals, close orders and craft customer specific sales plans.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
Achieve specific sales goals with highest priority placed on Orders Entered and Gross Margin objectives.
Act as the face of the SPX Components business by traveling in assigned territory a minimum of 60% of the time to conduct Customer meetings.
Acts as the primary point of contact for all Customers and Channel Partners in assigned territory.
Directly engages with Customers to lead SPX Components efforts to identify, cultivate, and drive sales opportunities from inception through Order Entry.
Manage all existing sales channels to market, including assigned Channel Partners, to maximize Orders Entered. Channel Partner involvement in and support for key customer meetings should be a priority.
As required, execute established Components sales processes to create, validate, and issue customer proposals.
Create, populate, & actively maintain an accurate & complete forward-looking funnel of sales opportunities.
For higher priority or strategic Orders, execute established Components sales processes to enter Orders, acknowledge Orders, track Order progress, provide notifications of shipment, and trigger invoicing.
Identify and assign lower priority sales orders to appropriate Customer Service Specialist to execute established Components sales processes to enter Orders, acknowledge Orders, track Order progress, provide notifications of shipment, and trigger invoicing.
Lead efforts to coordinate key interactions between Customers and SPX personnel to drive deeper working relationships.
Act as lead Technical Support contact for Customer inquiries for existing SPX Components products.
Create, schedule, and deliver Technical Sales presentations to Customers and Channel Partners on new product offerings.
Regularly collect and provide direct Customer feedback on price, lead-time, feature, function, and benefits of existing/new product offerings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Excellent presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to quickly absorb and utilize complex information.
Self-motivated, a positive attitude, and dynamic personality.
Strong organizational skills are essential.
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Visio).
A valid US driver’s license.
Ability to travel, air and car, up to 60% of the time.
Required Education / Experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BS/BA in related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas.
Minimum 3 years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Principle Duties and Responsibilities as presented above.
Preferred Education / Experience
BS/BA in Engineering discipline or advanced degree. Certification may be required in some areas.
Typically 5+ years of successful experience in power systems and/or substation experience and successful demonstration of Principle Duties and Responsibilities as presented above.
