SGB-SMIT is a leading international manufacturer of transformers with locations worldwide. With a total of around 3,500 employees, we develop and manufacture, among other things, oil distribution, cast resin and power transformers. Our transformers are used by energy suppliers, industrial companies, switchgear manufacturers and energy producers in the conventional and increasingly also in the renewable sector. We are looking for a Sustainability Manager (m/f/d) for the SGB-SMIT Group as soon as possible with experience in ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) relevant topics to establish sustainable initiatives together with an international and dynamic team at all our locations.

Sustainability Manager (m/f/d)

Aufgabenschwerpunkte

• Develop and implement the global sustainability strategy, including short- and long-term goals for the entire organization.
• Investigate and experiment with ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) initiatives. Explore emerging sustainability practices and test their applicability. Scale up adoption across the organization.
• Trend research and market observation regarding sustainable development – ensure that our business practices, products, and services comply with applicable sustainability rules and regulations.
• Develop and establish global measurement and reporting practices incorporating current industry standards required for CSRD. Collect data and metrics following the reporting standards (ESRS).
• Embedding sustainability into processes and decision-making. Revise key processes and related criteria/metrics/tools for decisions.
• Develop and deliver ESG training as well as coach and support departments to promote cultural change and to implement impact reduction measures.
• Further development and rollout of our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool for calculating the Cradle-to-Grave and Cradle-to-Gate footprint, and drive the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).
• Responsible for ESG questionnaires of external reporting frameworks such as Ecovadis and CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), as well as customer questionnaires.

Profil

• Master´s degree with a focus on sustainability or comparable qualification.
• Sound knowledge of relevant sustainability standards and methods.
• Enthusiasm concerning the topic of sustainability in all its facets and enjoy working creatively and innovatively on your own initiative.
• Strong project management expertise including agile & digital way of thinking.
• A high level of willingness to learn.
• The ability to lead many stakeholders towards a common goal in a dynamic and intercultural environment.
• Business fluent written and spoken English skills and good German skills.
