Transformer Engineer – Solar

We are looking for an experienced Medium Voltage Transformer Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in the renewable energy space, with a focus on power systems and transformer diagnostics. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, design review, and providing technical support across various projects.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

• Conduct on-site investigations and diagnostics for medium voltage transformers and related components.
• Apply industry standards for testing and safety procedures (e.g., IEEE, NETA, NEC, UL).
• Consult technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to resolve equipment issues.
• Prepare detailed reports on tests, maintenance, and repairs.
• Collaborate with global teams and manufacturers to resolve design issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
• Provide training and guidance to junior team members and field staff.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety practices and compliance with industry standards.
• Foster strong relationships with clients through effective communication and service.

Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience working with liquid-filled or dry-type transformers.
• Hands-on experience with testing procedures like Power Factor, Insulation Resistance, and Dissolved Gas Analysis.
• Experience in the solar or battery energy storage industry is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
