RHONA S.A. is the largest manufacturer of Transformers in Chile, with more than 60 years of history. The factory has 12,000 m2, and it is located in Viña del Mar, the tourist capital of the country. In its plant, the company manufactures transformers from 5 kVA up to 100,000 kVA ONAN. In September 2022, RHONA marked a very important milestone in its history and the national industry by manufacturing the largest transformer made in Chile, with 100/133 MVA of ONAN/ONAF power, voltages of 110/23 kV, and an on-load tap changer.
The transformer is designed for a wind farm of the Statkraft generator, which is a leading international company in a clean generation. The wind farm is located in the commune of Litueche in the VI region, an hour and a half from Santiago.
