Both projects were first awarded in 2019 as part of NYSERDA’s first offshore wind solicitation and were later re-awarded.
The wind farm will have a capacity of 810 MW.
The offshore wind farm will be the world’s largest once finished.
The project will help connect the Sunset Park onshore substation at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal into the New York City electrical grid at Con Edison’s Gowanus substation.
