TSO AST will receive €73.24 million ($79.42 million) to develop the transmission network and prepare for the synchronization of the Baltic states with Europe.
Reconstruction of the transmission lines will provide sufficient infrastructure for the energy independence of the Baltic States from Russia’s power system.
The transformer was donated by Latvia via EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid.
The delivery included 20 110 kV power transformers.
A third Estonia-Latvia interconnection makes it possible to maintain secure and stable operation of the Baltic electricity systems.
