United Arab Emirates state energy firm Masdar has signed a $15 billion renewable energy deal with the Philippines to develop renewable systems.

Emirati state-owned renewable energy project developer Masdar has acquired a majority stake in Greek renewable power firm Terna Energy.

Turbine installation has been completed at the 476 MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, a joint venture between Iberdrola and Masdar.

RWE and Masdar’s DCO application for the project has been accepted into the local Planning Inspectorate examination phase.

Masdar has reached an agreement to buy an initial 67% stake in Greece’s Terna Energy.

The project will produce 47790 GWh of clean energy per year and cut around 9% of Egypt’s annual carbon emissions.

Once completed, the project will generate enough electricity to supply around 475000 homes annually.

The deal marks Masdar’s strategic entry into the Bahrain market.

The solar projects will be able to meet the needs of 240000 homes.
