The Netherlands: The Dutch government-owned electrical grid TenneT has announced its plan to invest €22 billion ($24.25 billion) in new onshore and offshore electricity infrastructure in the coming decade.
Finland: Finland’s first commercial offshore wind farm, the €120-million ($132 million) 40 MW Tahkoluoto project in the Gulf of Bothnia, in the north of the Baltic Sea, west of Finland, will be custom-designed and built to withstand the local icy conditions.
France, Levallois-Perret: Alstom has been awarded a turnkey contract worth approximately €100 million ($110 million) from Eletrosul Centrais Electricas S/A (Eletrosul) to integrate wind farms located at Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, into the country’s transmission grid.
Switzerland, Zurich: ABB has won an order to provide substations and related power infrastructure for the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm situated off the Sussex coast, as well as the onshore substation to efficiently integrate the new wind farm into the country’s transmission grid.
