Indian utility installs coolers to avoid transformer blasts

India, Chhattisgarh: The state power distribution company Raipur Power Department started installing coolers on electric transformers around the city to prevent transformer blasts caused by intense heat.

Open transformers lying at low heights and dangling cable wires pose a threat to people and environment as they may lead to heavy sparks and cause explosions due to hot weather, reports Biharprabha.

The utility has taken the initiative to install coolers in order to prevent such events.
