ABB to modernise transformers in Brazilian Segredo HPP
ABB is set to complete the modernisation of 12 power transformers at 1,260 MW Segredo hydroelectric power plant (HPP) in Brazil, in the first quarter of 2014.

ABB is set to complete the modernisation of 12 power transformers at 1,260 MW Segredo hydroelectric power plant (HPP) in Brazil, in the first quarter of 2014.
The Segredo HPP is located on the river Iguacu in southern Parana state and is owned by Copel – Parana state owned utility.
The $ 7.2 million project will include the installation of the ABB TEC online monitoring system. This system will provide preventive maintenance, help to avoid failures and allow better control. It will also increase the lifespan of the equipment.
The ABB TEC online monitoring system combines features of online surveillance, high capacity of smart data storage and specialised diagnostic capabilities.
