$2.17B investment plan to see hundreds of new substations built

Kenya, Nairobi: Kenya Power has revealed its five-year investment programme worth $2.17 billion, which will include capital projects aimed at adequately suppling power to 10.8 million customers by 2021, more than double the 4.8 million clients who are currently connected to the national grid.

The $2.17 billion strategic plan will cover five key projects: infrastructure development, network modernisation, electricity loss reduction, resource realignment and improving supply and service to customers, reports ESI-Africa.
