New $20M substation inaugurated in Georgia
Georgia, Tbilisi: A new 500 kV substation has been officially inaugurated in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi by Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
The Marneuli 500 kV substation has been built by Georgian State Electrosystem at a cost of $20 million, with financial support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) within the Regional Power Transmission Enhancement Project, reports Agenda.
Electrosystem has been implementing three more projects within this programme, including the construction of 220 kV Khorga substation, rehabilitation of 500 kV Ksani substation, and procurement of a new power transformer for 220 kV Menji substation.
The total value of the projects is $50 million.
