EBRD offers $135M loan to improve power distribution in Turkey

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is extending a $134.75 million loan to three Turkish electricity companies, as part of the efforts to enhance reforms in the country’s electricity sector.

The funding will allow the three companies to expand and upgrade theirelectricity distribution networks, implement environmental, health and safety improvements, and increase network efficiency, reports EBR.

The three companies are Trakya Electricity Distribution Company (TREDAS), Trakya Electricity Retail Company (TREPAS), and their parent company, IC Içtas Elektrik (ICEL).
