CERB invests into new high-voltage testing facility

Bulgaria, Sofia: One of the Balkans largest enterprises engaged in maintenance of large electric power facilities, the Bulgarian Centralna Energoremontna Baza (CERB), has invested over $1.5 million into a new generation impulse voltage test system, the country’s first facility for testing resistance to lightning.

The new facility is able to test high-voltage equipment of 110 kV and above, including transformers, insulators, cables, switches and other outdoor electrical equipment, the company said in a press statement.

The impulse voltage generator was put into operation at the beginning of December.
