Vietnam to spend over $934M on power transmission in 2017

Vietnam’s National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) is reported to have revealed plans to put into operation 63 power transmission projects across the country in 2017, which are worth over $934.43 million.

The key transmission network upgrade projects include building a 500 kV power transformer station, a 500 kV transmission line, two 220 kV lines, and transmission lines connecting with the country’s northern Thai Binh thermal power plant, the state-run news agency VNA quoted the corporation, reports Global Times.

Several other major upgrade projects are planned to ensure power supply for capital Hanoi, southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City, as well as key economic zones in the north and the south, said the EVNNPT.
