Noida needs over 90 power transformers

India, Noida: The power department of Noida (PVVNL) has asked from authorities to release the funds for their long-pending demand of 92 power transformers rated at 400 kV (since March 2016) to ensure better supply across residential and industrial sectors.

However, even a year after the initial request was lodged, the department is yet to receive a response from the authorities, reports The Times of India.

“We had raised the demand of 92 transformers of 400 kV in March last year [2016] in order to improve the supply condition in both residential and industrial sectors during peak summer season. […] If we get these new transformers, we can largely curtail the problem of overloading and resultant power cuts,” PVVNL’s superintending engineer Mukul Singhal said.

“If not sanctioned at the earliest, then this year too we will face problems in supply,” urged Singhal and added that to begin the bidding process (which takes a minimum of one month), he needs immediate sanction of funds.
