Sierra Leone procures four new power transformers
Sierra Leone: To further boost electricity production in the Western Area, four new power transformers have been procured to serve four communities in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The four high-voltage transformers have already arrived from China and will be used for the Energy Access Project (EAP) for priority areas of Sierra Leone’s power sector, reports Awoko.
The transformers will be installed at Kingtom power station, Wilberforce, Ropoti, and Wellington communities.
The Energy Access Project is supported by the World Bank and forms part of the government’s energy revolution, to reach every town and chiefdom by 2020. The project aims not only to improve the electricity sector, but also to provide access to the quality and affordable energy to the public.
