Belarus’ largest power substation to go online in May
Belarus, Polotsk District: Belarus’ largest power substation Postavy should start operating as part of the national power grid in May.
The electrical equipment for the Belarus’ largest 330 kV substation, including power transformers, was mainly made in China and Europe and has been fully installed, reports Belarus News.
With commissioning work in progress, specialists believe the substation will go online in May.
Postavy substation is being built to feed power from the Belarusian nuclear power plant into the national power grid.
In the future, the substation may be used to deliver electricity to the Baltic countries considering the decommissioning of the Ignalina nuclear power plant in Lithuania.
