Transformer explodes during test at Schneider Electric
France, Grenoble: A test on a power transformer conducted by Schneider Electric at its location at Paul-Louis Merlin quay in Grenoble ended in fire.
The transformer, which was installed on a semi-trailer inside a large laboratory, did not withstand the excessive electric charge and exploded, causing a fire that spread to the truck, reports Le Dauphine.
Fire fighters deployed significant resources to put the fire under control.
The material damage appeared to be significant but there were no injuries to the technical staff present during the test.
