8,000 transformers to be replaced by June 25 at $93M
India, Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh government has set up a $93 million plan to replace old and under-capacity transformers across the state by June 25.
A total of 8,000 distribution transformers will be replaced with new and higher capacity units across the state, while new high-voltage transmission substations will be built in four districts, reports The Times of India.
Fournew substations will be erected in Banda (400 kV), Hapur (765 kV), Indrapuram in Ghaziabad (400 kV) and Bijnor (400 kV), which should ease the congestion of transmission lines.
