Ho Chi Minh City to invest $1.9B in power development
Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh: The Ho Chi Minh City has requested the approval of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of its power transmission development plan with a total investment of about $1.9 billion.
Under the plan, several transformer stations will be built, including 220 kV high-tech substations at Tan Cang, Dam Sen Park, Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Thu Thiem, reports Vietnam.net.
Within the $1.9 billion budget, $478 million is planned for the 220 kV transmission line, $587 million for the 110 kV distribution line, and about $815 million will be spent on medium and low voltage distribution lines.
Many existing transmission lines will be upgraded.
The Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation has developed specific plans to supply power, preparing backup generators and necessary measures in case of power outages.
