Lagos community waits 95 days for a repaired transformer
Nigeria, Lagos: Residents of Alaguntan Community in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos have experienced a 95-day power outage due to a faulty transformer which was taken away for repairs by Ikeja Electric (IE) on 25 February.
While the officials of IE took the transformer away, they had failed to replace it, leaving the community in lingering darkness that paralysed commercial activities, reports Premium Times.
When contacted, the head of corporate communications of IE, Mr. Ofulue, said the transformer was taken to the vendor for repairs in March.
“The transformer has […] been repaired and is now undergoing testing,” he said, adding that “by the second week of June, the transformer will be brought back to the community and power supply will be restored to the area.”
