Baguio City orders all transformers to be relocated in secure power houses
Philippines, Luzon: All establishments in Baguio City on the Luzon Island are now required to have built-in power houses to secure their power transformers within their premises instead of attaching them to electric posts.
This measure aims to eliminate the dangers that transformers attached to posts pose to the public, especially during typhoons and calamities, reports Sun Star.
Establishments have one year to relocate their power transformers, otherwise, the Benguet Electric Cooperative can stop providing power to those who do not comply with the ordinance.
In relation to this, the newly approved Environment Code of the City of Baguio orders that all new buildings must have a space to store transformers.
