Pioneer wins contract for liquid-filled grid transformers
USA, New Jersey: Pioneer Power Solutions has signed a contract with a large electric utility provider for the supply of liquid-filled network transformers.
The company expects a 30-month contract, with first shipments expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2017, according to the company press release.
The network transformers will be manufactured by the company’s transformer division, which specializes in the manufacturing of liquid-filled distribution, small power and specialty transformers designed to withstand harsh environments.
These transformers are typically used by utilities and municipal power authorities in secondary grid applications to ensure reliability of service, enabling electrical grids to continue to withstand major storms or other events.
