Plans to build massive 76-acre solar farm rejected

Ireland: Plans to build a massive 76-acre solar farm in Kildare, Ireland have been rejected by Kildare County Council.

As previously reported by Transformers Magazine, an application was lodged for building the farm that would consist of an area of up to 92,400 m2 of solar panels, and include fenced electricity substation compound, transformer units, underground cable and ducts and boundary security fence with CCTV and all associated site services and works.

Planning permission was sought for a period of ten years at Furryhill and Kilteel Lower, but it was rejected, reports Independent.
