Ameren selects final route for $250M Mark Twain Transmission project
USA, Missouri: Ameren’s subsidiary Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (ATXI) has selected the final route for the Mark Twain Transmission project, a 100-mile (160 km) long transmission line capable of transmitting 345 kV.
The project expected to cost $250 million includes building a substation, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, in Northeast of Missouri, reports CTBR.
The line will run through the counties of Adair, Knox, Lewis, Marion and Schuyler in Missouri.
The Zachary Substation will be constructed adjacent to the existing Adair Substation in Adair County.
Mark Twain Transmission project is expected to be completed in 2019 and is one of the several projects to strengthen the regional electric grid by Midcontinent Independent System Operator.
