ZTR delivers a controlled shunt reactor to South Africa

Ukrainian power transformer manufacturer Zaporozhtransformator (ZTR) has successfully delivered the first controlled shunt reactor to South Africa.

The shunt reactor will be installed at Eskom’s Ovaal Substation, the manufacturer stated in a press release.

This order was a pilot project received by ZTR after two years of work with Eskom on the most effective application of this technology in Eskom’s grid.

The reactor should be commissioned by the end of 2017.
