Egypt sets 3-year plan for T&D works worth $2.1B

Egypt, Cairo: Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Energy has unveiled plans to upgrade the existing power grid and carry out projects to bolster power distribution and transmission at the three-year investments financed by local banks, reports Zawya.

The three-year plan set by the Ministry includes power distribution and transmission works valued at $2.1 billion, which would be financed by Misr Bank and National Bank of Egypt.

According to a source cited by Zawya, ABB is seeking to win contracts worth close to $200 million for projects constituting 10 % of this three-year plan.
