NTDC installs new 250 MVA transformer in Islamabad
Pakistan: To provide relief to the consumers of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Pakistani National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has replaced and energized a 250 MVA autotransformer at the 220/500 kV grid station Rawat Islamabad.
The new power transformer has increased the capacity of the substation from 160 MVA to 250 MVA, which will help overcome the overloading problem at the station, reports Daily Times.
NTDC has also energised the first phase of the 500 kV Double Circuit Quad Bundle Transmission Line from Port Qasim Power Plant to interconnect with the existing 500 kV Single Circuit-1 Hub-Jamshoro Transmission Line.
The main objective of this project is evacuation of power from the 1320 MW Bin Qasim Power Plant.
