Acciona wins contract to build two transmission lines in Kenya
Spanish renewable energy company Acciona has been selected by HOMT España to design and build power transmission lines along with several substations in Kenya.
The contract is part of a project worth over $47 million which is being executed by HOMT España for Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO), reports CTBR.
The first line will include the construction of a 71.6k m, 132 kV power line between Rabal and Kilifi along with the construction of a new substation and expansion of another three.
The second line includes the construction of a 106 km 132 kV power line between Voi and Taveta along with the construction of a new substation and expansion of an existing substation.
The two lines along with substation work need to be executed within a period of 22 months.
