USD 1.2B Oregon-to-Idaho transmission project approved

USA, Oregon: The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has given a green light for Idaho Power to build a 293-mile transmission line from Oregon to Idaho.

Known as the Boardman-to-Hemingway project (B2H Project), this $1 billion to $1.2 billion line will stretch from just east of Boardman, Oregon, where a new substation is planned by Bonneville Power Administration – along the Columbia River – to the existing Hemingway Substation near the city of Melba in Owyhee County, Idaho, reports KTZV.

Construction is expected to start in 2021 and take two to three years.
