Abingdon to power up with new transformer station

USA, Virginia: Abingdon Town Council, Virginia has approved Appalachian Power’s purchase of land needed for the company’s South Abingdon Extension Transmission Line.

The transmission project will include a new substation, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment as well as improvements to three existing substations, and approximately four miles of 138 kV transmission line to improve power reliability for area customers, reports Bristol Herald Courier.
