Giant Eversource transformer moved to Derry in New Hampshire
USA, New Hampshire: New Hampshire energy provider Eversource moved its new power transformer to the Scobie Pond substation in Derry.
The 234-tonne transformer, manufactured in South Korea by Hyosung Power Systems, was shipped to New Jersey, and brought on rail via Albany, N.Y. and Springfield, Mass. to a rail siding in Manchester, New Hampshire, where it was moved onto the platform trailer before it was transported to the substation where it was shifted over to a concrete pad, reports Concord Monitor.
The 450 MVA transformer was purchased to replace the unit that failed last spring.
