PLN building 500 kV transmission project in Java
Indonesia, Jakarta: Indonesian state electricity company PT PLN (Persero) is building a 500 kV transmission grid along the northern route of Java Island with new transmission lines and substations.
The $198 million project consists of the construction of 500 kV substations, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, in Mandirancan and Indramayu, as well as two sections of 500 kV transmission lines from Batang to Mandirancan, and from Mandirancan to Indramayu, reports Netral News.
“The construction of the transmission and substations is in line with the planned operation of new power plants of 35,000 MW program in the northern route of Java. The transmission will connect power plants such as Batang Steam Power Plant, Tanjung Jati A SPP, Jawa 3 SPP, Jawa 1 Extended SPP, and Indramayu SPP,” Netral News cites Director of PLN of Central Java Region, Amir Rosidin.
The project is expected to be completed in 2019.
