Southern California building $464M transmission project
USA, California: Southern California Edison is implementing a $464 million transmission project, which is expected to become operational in June 2021, reports Electric Light&Power.
The Alberhill System Project includes construction of a new 500/115 kV transmission substation, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, as well as two new 500 kV line segments, a new 115 kV sub-transmission line, and modifications to existing sub-transmission lines.
The project will help meet growing electricity demand in western Riverside County, as well as improve service reliability and operational flexibility by providing the ability to transfer load between substations.
