Sacramento to receive a new $76M substation
USA, California: The Sacramento Municipal Utility District will construct a new local substation, a $76 million project that will replace a neighbouring aging facility and enhance power reliability of the utility’s electric grid.
The new substation, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, will be built in the Boulevard Park neighbourhood area, with the construction expected to begin in 2019 and be completed in 2020, reports The Sacramento Bee.
The substation will replace the neighbouring North City Substation, which is more than 60 years old and at the end of its useful life.
