New transmission projects planned in Maryland

USA, Maryland and Pennsylvania: Transource Energy is seeking formal permission to build two new 230 kV power lines in two sections, which would include construction of two new substations in Pennsylvania.

The two sections would include a 26 km segment from a new substation to be built in York County, Pennsylvania, to an existing substation near Norrisville in Harford County, Maryland and a 47 km run from a new substation near Interstate 81 south of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania to the existing Ringgold substation near Smithsburg, Maryland, reports Herald Media.

This $320 million project would be constructed in 2019 and put in service by mid-2020.
