FirstEnergy investing $156M in Potomac Edison Area

USA, Maryland: FirstEnergy is set to invest about $156 million in 2018 on distribution and transmission infrastructure projects in Potomac Edison’s service area in western Maryland and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. 

Major projects scheduled for 2018 include transmission enhancements as well as construction of new distribution substations, including a new substation in the Foxville area in Frederick County, Md., a substation for the Jefferson Tech Park near Frederick, Md., and a new distribution substation in Montgomery County, the company said in the press statement.

The company is also installing a new power transformer at a substation in Moorefield, W.Va., and adding additional equipment in a substation in the Yellow Springs, Md.
