High Dam transformer fire contained in Cairo
On Tuesday, a limited fire broke out in one of the High Dam power transformers in Cairo, Egypt, said press spokesman of the Ministry of Electricity Aktham Abul Ela.
According to the press spokesman, the fire was caused by a technical failure in the transformer but was successfully contained by the workers at the dam power plant. There were no reported casualties.
The broken transformer is currently being replaced as stated by the press spokesman. He maintained that all the remaining power stations on the High Dam operate efficiently.
