Japanese firm to supply 425 transformers to the Philippine NEA

The Philippines, Mindanao: Nishizawa Limited, a Japanese general trading company, has been contracted by the National Electrification Administration (NEA) in the Philippines to supply the materials and equipment needed to revamp the power distribution system of six electric cooperatives in Mindanao.

As part of the contract, the Japanese firm will supply and deliver 425 transformer units, poles, and wires, among other equipment, reports Power Philippines.  

The six recipients are Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative Inc. (Lasureco), Maguindanao Electric Cooperative Inc. (Magelco), Basilan Electric Cooperative Inc. (Baselco), Sulu Electric Cooperative Inc. (Suleco), Tawi-Tawi Electric Cooperative Inc. (Tawelco), and Siasi Electric Cooperative Inc. (Siaselco).

The project will be financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) through a grant aid extended by the Government of Japan to the Philippine government.
