Rocky Mountain Power plans $3.5B transmission project

USA, Wyoming: Rocky Mountain Power is proposing to build a new 500 kV transmission line segment in Sweetwater County as part of a Gateway West Transmission Line Project and Energy 2020.

The $3.5 billion project would include construction of new substation facilities and a 225 km, 500 kV transmission line running from the Shirley Basin Substation, north of Medicine Bow, to the Jim Bridger Substation outside Superior, reports Star Tribune.

The project will add about 1,150 MW of new power by 2020.
