Siemens 1,100 kV transformer arrives at Shanghai port

Siemens announced its 1,100 kV high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transformer which was manufactured in Nuremberg, Germany to be installed at the SGCC’s Changji-Guquan HVDC project has made its way to the Port of Shanghai in China.

The 587 MVA transformer began its journey in February, when it was transported from the transformer factory in Nuremberg to Rotterdam, The Netherlands via the Main-Danube Canal, and then loaded onto a ship to China.
