Two technicians die as transformer oil catches fire

India, Tamil Nadu: Two young people died after an oil-filled transformer caught fire near Alangulam on Monday afternoon as they were working on a technical fault in the unit.

Police said a team of technicians were working to fix a technical issue in a transformer of a windmill installed near Kurippankulam, reports The Hindu.

As the oil in the transformer suddenly caught fire, two technicians suffered fatal burns.

Alangulam officials are investigating the incident.
