Turkmenistan needs transformers as part of $5B investment by 2020
Turkmenistan is in high demand for power transformers due to the implementation of the “Concept for the Development of the Electricity Industry for 2013-2020”, which has become the largest investment project, envisaging more than $5 billion for the development of the power industry until 2020.
Six new power stations will be built within the framework of this program.
As Turkmenistan has no enterprises for producing transformers, it will import transformers from Kazakhstan’s Aktau Transformer Plant. According to the Kazakh Union of Manufacturing Industries, more than 50 percent of the output of plant is planned to be exported to Turkmenistan, reports Azer News.
