Zesa needs to replace over 4,000 transformers
Zimbabwe, Harare: Zimbabwe’s national power utility, ZESA Holdings, requires $20 million to replace over 4,000 transformers that are either vandalised or stolen across the country.
According to the government, at least three transformers are stolen per night, reports The Herald.
“At the moment, over 4,000 transformers need replacing but the frequency of vandalism and/or thefts is such that we can’t replace them at the same rate,” ZESA spokesperson Fullard Gwasira told The Herald.
